Candidate for
Mayor; Village of Woodlawn

Raymond Terrell grew up in Glendale, Ohio. He graduated from Glendale High School. He then spent three and a half years in the U. S. Navy. He then attended Xavier University where he received his Bachelor's Degree in English and a Masters Degree in Educational Administration. He then earned a Doctorate in Educational Administration from Wayne State University in Detriot, Michigan.

From 1964-1973 he worked as a teacher and administrator in the Princeton City School District. During a portion of that same time period, he served as a Village of Woodlawn council member and as Vice Mayor.

From 1974-1993 Terrell worked at California State University, Los Angeles where he served as a professor of Educational Administration, and for five yearss he served as Dean of the School of Education.

Since retuning to Ohio in 1993, Terrell has served for three years as the Principal of Jefferson Elementary School in Hamilton, Ohio. From 1997-2003 he served as Distinguished Professional in Residence in the Department of Educational Leadership at Miami University He is currently serving as Special Assistant to Dean for Diviersity Initiatives in the School of Education and Allied Professions at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. His area of expertise and research focus on creating and maintaining diverse school and work environments. Terrell is co-author of two, recently published books that deal with diversity, "Cultural Proficiency: A Manual for School Leaders" 2nd edition and "Culturally Proficient Instruction: A Book for People Who Teach."

Terrell is married to Eloise Terrell and they have two adult children, William and Dina. Terrell was elected to an at large seat on the Village of Woodlawn Council in November 2001.
