Ken will continue to work fairly, openly and honestly to keep the CCWD delivering the best possible water at the best possible price through the best maintained system.
Many people would have you believe that they are not trying to jeopardize the quality of our water system. I've been here living and raising my three teenagers Robert, K.C. and Jeanne with Sally, my spouse, for twenty-five years.I have seen some disturbing trends.
Our children have attended our public schools and I have watched continual efforts to improve the facilities and quality of their education driven down by the same interest groups who would also delay road improvements. I guess the attitude is "if the quality of life on the coast is sub standard no one else will come."
This group now targets our water system. It happened two elections ago... lots of re-thinking and studies were recommended. This group would ask you, the voter to believe that we can stop, try to engineer the entire water shed, accounting for each and every drop of water in the coastal zone before ever allowing the pipeline improvement projects to proceed. There seems to be no concern for the already exhausted fifty-five year old pipelines still in the ground. These delays have cost the district hundreds of thousands of dollars over five years putting you the rate-payers at risk.
This is a policy of delay, increased research and study while allowing the system to age and deteriorate. It is time to state your concern. Elect me to the board and I will continue to work for rational thinking and active pursuit of permitting necessary to replace these worn pipes.
This group now states, "We all agree that the pipes should be replaced", but when was the last time you heard that they would be withdrawing their appeals at the Coastal Commission where these permits are currently bogged down. When was the last time you heard of them writing letters in support of the CCWD being allowed to move forward. Please do not be misled, elect me, John Muller, Jim Larimer and Ev Ascher and give us the support to improve and protect our district and system.
I will work tirelessly to deliver the best possible water at the best possible price through the best maintained
system. I will work to keep the re-organized and highly motivated staff pursuing the highest possible goals of increased service to the fire districts and you the rate payers. I will listen carefully and attentively to all concerns of our local governing bodies and citizens and will co-operate in all respects. And of course I will do my best to protect the quality of life here in our fragile coastal zone. Thank-you for your attention and taking the time to learn more about me and my candidacy. Ken
