Private control of the Murrieta Town Hall was a sustained, morally wrong action against the people of our community. Two grand jury investigations and numerous resident complaints resulted in an initiative and petition drive for the city to acquire the property. A controversial purchase agreement was completed by the City Council in 2001. Revokation of the MVTHA non-profit status and acquisition by order of the Attorney General was an option that was not pursued.
