Ben graduated from UC Irvine with a BA in Psychology. He and his wife Stacy have three daughters -- a ten year old, Rebekah, a seven-year old, Anastacia and a three-year old Rachel. They are members of Harvest Christian Church. He is a district manager with Aventis Pharmaceuticals.

As a current member of the Alvord Unified School District Board of Education, Ben is a committed citizen who has already established himself with a distinguished record of volunteer and community service efforts. His dedicated volunteer work has earned him recognition as the recipient of the Outstanding Citizen Award for Riverside County, 1995 and the 1994 Volunteer of the Year Award from the JC Penney Points of Light Program. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Youth Service Center and is Vice-Chair of the City of Riverside's Charter Review Committee.
