Questions & Answers

1. How would you balance civil liberties with the increased need for public security?

In a post 9/11 environment, the safety of our citizens is a top priority for me. Partnering between law enforcement and community groups will help create a collaboration of diversity that will open up opportunities for all interested parties. As Ohio Attorney General this means security for all Ohioans. Through increased training for local law enforcement on how to identify safety issues without infringing on an Ohioan's rights, we will be able to enter into a solution toward security instead of creating a bigger problem. Increasing our communication capability would be a first and foremost step toward a safer Ohio.
