I am very interested in recently released studies showing that the amount of greenery and open spaces, such as parks, relates directly to the amount of violent crime in a specific area. The theory is that open spaces encourage families to be out in the community at parks for picnics, softball games, etc. This in turn encourages a feeling of community closeness and discourages violent crime.
