Better educational choices

By Bob Vondruska

Candidate for Member; California State Assembly; District 73

This information is provided by the candidate
Private schools continue to outperform public schools for 1/2 the cost to taxpayers.
It is no secret that public schools are overcrowded, in need of repair and are failing to provide California children with the same level of education as a typical private school. The average annual cost to educate a child in a public school is about $6,000. The average annual cost to educate a child in a private school is about $3,000, or about half the cost of a typical public school. Wouldn't it make more sense to ease overcrowding by providing parents with school vouchers so they can put their child in the school of their choice, and at the same time cut education spending by 50%? If we give parents a tax credit equal to the cost of tuition in a private school, we can achieve almost the same result and know that parents are getting the best education for their money. Repealing the state income tax would also provide parents with the funding needed to purchase private education for their children. Whichever way they choose, parents deserve to have these options. The Libertarian Party is the only party that is working to provide these options to California's children. I hope that you will help us to make this possible by electing Libertarians in all levels of government. Thank you!
