Alan Jay Cuperus was born June 7, 1965, in Jenison, Michigan, to Elmer and Dena Cuperus. He graduated from Hudsonville (MI) Unity Christian High School in 1983, and moved to California in 1988, residing in West Covina since 1991. He and his wife, Diane, have been married since 1994; a union in which he inherited 2 children, Mickey and Mandy (Marshall) Wright, now ages 28 and 25, respectively. They have since made him a young grandfather five times over.

Al, as he prefers to be called (he says "Alan" sounds too stuffy for his personality), currently works for Exacta Messenger Service as a data processor, and is also a Registered Process Server. Though his formal education is limited, he continues to pursue an "informal" education in the subjects of economics, history, philosophy, and political science, valuing highly the works of Thomas Jefferson, Frederic Bastiat, and Ayn Rand.
