Achieving our "really-wants"

Morro Bay General Fund Revenues have more than doubled in the last 4 years, from $6.2 million to $13.7 million for 01/02. That comes to $1324 per capita, 16% over the next highest city in SLO Co., Pismo Beach. Atascadero gets by with $428 per capita. I would utilize my years of project management to:

1. Put our "really-wants" to the front
2. Focus our Budget and resources to achieve them
3. Provide persistent and hard-nosed follow-up

1. A public swimmimg pool in Morro Bay

We had one up to 2 years ago, now it is gone without nary a wimper. We all know how valuable a pool is....for function and recreation. We would teach our kids how to swim and it is well known that swimming is the best form of exercise for all age groups.

2. A City Center Market

My vision for this is to convert the vacant Anthonys Restaurant and trailer park into an open-air pavillion, containing a seafood market, local farm produce, flowers, crafts, and serve as a staging area for special events.... you can even throw in a parking structure right where you need it. What a perfect tie between the Embarcadero and Downtown. What a perfect place for it and the property is for sale. Every city My wife and I have visited that has a "Central Market" invariably draws us, a magnet. What an asset for residents and visitors.
