Full Biography for Mark Rickert

I graduated from UCSD in 1982 with bachelor's degrees in Math and Computer Science. My wife, Sue, and I moved our family from San Diego to Templeton over 11 years ago. I'm an Engineering Manager at Performance Technologies (formerly Intel (formerly Ziatech)) in San Luis Obispo. I have two children in the Templeton school district (Joshua, grade 8; Nicolette, grade 6). I enjoy games, recreational math, and playing beach volleyball and racket sports. I've served on School Site Councils at both TES and VES for four years each (one year I was on both), and I've helped in the classroom (including the presentation of probability lessons for both of my children's fourth grade classes). I also published the VES Grapevine newsletter for the last four years. I believe I have a good rapport with the teachers based on the site council service and time spent helping in the classroom. I've been a semi-regular attendee of School Board meetings for the last 2.5 years. Through my years of volunteer service, I have developed good working relationships with the District Office, the principals, the teachers, and parents. I believe these cooperative relationships will enable me to serve our district well. |
