As a resident of San Luis Obispo since 1970, John Ewan has been involved in the community as a student (Cal Poly Graduate '73), a business owner (Pacific Energy Company since 1980), an environmental advocate and a family man with two children.John Ewan has committed to: - Continue the vision which people have worked so hard to create. - Maintain the rural county lands which give us so much beauty and vitality, by continuing to create an open space for all time around our city. - Sustain and enhance the economic wellbeing of our community, by preventing "mall sprawl" at our city edges. - Provide recreational opportunities for our children and adults, with playing fields and parks for all residents to enjoy. - Maintain and enhance the identity of our neighborhoods, by recognizing the special character of our different neighborhoods and protecting that character. - Create an airport area that complements our historic city, by having this development occur within our city and to city standards. - Pursue the Nacimiento project as a reliable and sustainable water source, while protecting our natural resources. - Enhance our public transportation, bicycle, and pedestrian access. - Improve pedestrian and transit access to our city, continuing to help alleviate downtown congestion. _- Support our diverse cultural heritage, community arts, and our families. John is married to Stephanie and their two children are: Renée & Curt Ewan
