Where I Stand on Other Issues

For the past two years, I've been actively involved in the political process at City Council, the County Board of Supervisors, and the San Luis Coastal Unified School Board. Here are some of the stands I've taken:

City Council:

  • I've spoken in favor of the Copeland's project, the Damon-Garcia soccer fields, the Cannon project, the Water Reclamation project, and the Creek Protection fund.

  • I helped craft the "big box" compromise which sets size limits and design standards for large stores and their parking lots, yet allows Costco to come to town.

  • I've supported public transit, pedestrian safety, and neighborhood preservation.

Board of Supervisors:

  • I've spoken against MTBE in our drinking water, against a redistricting plan that weakens the City's voice in County affairs, and against allowing the Dalidio project to proceed in the County.

School Board:

  • I've fought for better fiscal management, deeper cuts in district administration, and strict adherence to the Brown Act.
