I have lived, gone to school and worked in the San Diego Community College district for the past 21 years. I am originally from the east coast, but have made San Diego my permanent home. I am endorsed by educators, legislators, business leaders, community college staff, students, police officers and fire fighters. With the wide range of bipartisan support I have received, I hope to get our community colleges the support and credit they are entitled to. I truly care about the San Diego community and believe strong support for the community colleges is important since many of our citizens, both young and old take classes at the three community colleges, and six adult eductation centers. I have a degree in accounting and a law degree. I believe my background will allow me to step into the board position without a lenghty learing curve. My background will enable me to make prudent fiscal decisions while overseeing the SDCCD's $350 million dollar budget. I look forward to having an opportunity to give something back to the City of San Diego and hope to have the support of the League of Women Voters to do this. |
