I live and go to church in Santee. I am a REPUBLICAN. I am running for this office because I believe I can make a positive contribution to public education in our school district and help move it in the right direction. I believe my experience in teaching, my community leadership experience and my degree in public administration make me a well-qualified candidate. Let me tell you a little about my qualifications. I am a high school math teacher and know the politics that go on within a school district. I am not just an outsider looking in. I have served on an Elementary School Site Council as a parent, which has given me the experience of helping to make decisions for everyday affairs relating to running an elementary school. I have served as a commissioner on the Santee Mobile Home Fair Practices Commission. I have also had the opportunity of being a Traffic Commissioner for the City of El Cajon. It was being on these two commissions that taught me the importance of listening to the public and analyzing everything thoroughly before I make a final decision on issues. Finally, let me tell you about my education. I have a California teaching credential from San Diego State University, a Bachelor of arts in Public Administration from San Diego State University, I have done some graduate study in Public Policy at San Diego State University and I have participated in many seminars and workshops on education throughout my career as a teacher. |
