As a civil engineer, I worked in the water industry for many years. I was manager of the operations for the Santa Clara Valley Water District. I was responsible for the many reservoirs throughout the county that provided, not only a water supply, but flood control. Futher duties included three large water treatment plants and the distribution of the water. I also designed and operated ground water recharge ponds, and operated an advanced waste water treatment plant. I supervised a staff of over 200 engineers and technical people. I was appointed to the California Water Commission and was chair in 1997-98.
I am the former president of Habitat for Hunanity and currently serve as vice-president. I was selected as Capitola Humanitarian of the year in 2000. I served for four years in the United States Seabees and have lived in the Capitola area since 1971.
