Deepka Lalwani is a financial analyst with an MBA in Finance from San Jose State University. Her experience as a Certified Accountant provides her with the fiscal discipline and accountability required of a Milpitas City Councilmember. Deepka has invested her time in the community and has dedicated her time and leadership skills by serving many civic, cultural and grassroots organizations.

Deepka Lalwani's is currently Vice Chair of the Milpitas Planning Commission. She served two terms as President of the Milpitas Chamber of Commerce and has served on the Community Advisory Commission. Deepka was founder of Women for Political Involvement, and was founder and past president of Business and Professional Women. In 1998, she earned the Milpitas Citizen of the Year Award for her excellent service to the community.
