My husband Clarence Jones and I have lived in the San Jose/Mt Pleasant School District area for 30 years. Our son Clarence Jones, is a student at San Jose State University teaches part-time at Empire Elementary school and coaches varsity football part-time at San Jose Acadamy.

I served as the Chairperson of Site Council and PTSA at schools in the Mt. Pleasant School District. And have volunteered for many school activities.

I served on the San Jose Public Library Commission for 7 years. As the leison to the Biblioteca Latino Americano, was very instructment in getting the new library facility, which includes a partnership with a Youth Center. I was also the leison to the Alviso Public Libray and was intructmental in obtainig a facility which includes a library partnership with a community center. Chairperson of the Branch Facility Master Plan to look at the San Jose Public Library branches for the next twenty years.
