Terry Gregory is a dynamic and energetic leader. Throughout his life and professional career, Terry has demonstrated a passion for ensuring that families and youth of the San Jose community receive equal opportunities. Since 1996 Mr. Gregory has served as a governing board member of the Franklin-McKinley School District. Currently in his second term, Terry has earned a reputation for boldly standing up to special interests ensuring the district remains accountable to its mission of providing excellent education to all students and families. Terry Gregory's extensive background in the private sector has allowed him to take an attitude that places high importance on results and progress. His senior management and consulting experience in the technology industry, combined with his devotion to education and youth opportunity, has made him an overwhelmingly effective figure in our community. Having served as Franklin-McKinley's board president, member of the technology, budget advisory and strategic planning committees, Terry has utilized his leadership experience and education to change the way we educate our children. Under his leadership, Franklin-McKinley School District has become an increasingly adaptive and effective public agency working to energize its staff and meet the community's needs. An outspoken advocate for children's issues, Terry Gregory has worked relentlessly to improve opportunities and quality of life for all children in our community. Having served on the board of the directors for Silicon Valley Boys & Girls Club, Breakthrough Youth Foundation, Alum Rock Counseling Center, and also as an instructor for parent and student success forums, and a Youth Minister of Antioch Baptist Church # Terry has devoted countless amounts of time and energy to children and young people. In addition to his extensive work with children, Terry has stood out as a community activist and uniter. From serving as President of the Board of Directors for San Jose Conservation Corps, President of Senter Creek Homeowners Association, Diversity Commissioner for the City of San Jose and President of Coyote Creek Community Gardens Association to being an active member of groups such as the California and National School Boards Associations, Terry has consistently demonstrated his leadership abilities and commitment in ways that have benefited our community. As a devout educator, Mr. Gregory holds three degrees, an AAS in computer science, BS in information systems management, and a MA in organization transformation and leadership. In 1994 he became a faculty member of JFK University, in 1998 he also began teaching at the University of San Francisco. Terry has resided in San Jose for more than 20 years. He has one daughter who is currently attending law school. |
