Candidate for
Board Member; Berryessa Union School District

Dear Friends,

My daughters age 8 and 12 are proud of their schools in the Berryessa Union School District. I am especially proud of the cultural and ethnic diversity of our community.

I have been fortunate to have valuable experience as a site council member of both Summerdale and Piedmont Middle School and also as a chairperson on Berryessa District Advisory Committee representing Summerdale and Piedmont Middle School. Also I am a current participant of San Jose Citizen Police Academy. I have Master Degree in Computer Science from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago.

I am quite familiar with issues and challenges facing public education in California. Dealing with these challenges, as well as with the limited resources, changing demographics, and ever-increasing expectations requires tact, patience and a strong commitment to the education of the children in the community.

I will support innovation, share new ideas with the team to form partnerships with the community. I will work toward before/after school child care, proper safety measures, improved traffic, after school sports, schoolrepair/modernization and recruit/retain the best teachers.

Also, I would like to be a role model to encourage parents and community to get involved in school activities and issues.
