Listing of Issues and Positions: from Whispering Hills & Home Depot to Rancho Mission Viejo and San Juan Creek RoadIt has been an honor to have served you and your families for the past eight years. I would be honored to serve on your behalf for four more years. The basis of my platform is Family, Community, Tradition. For Full Information, go to http://www.davidswerdlin.com. Whispering Hills & San Juan Hills High School. I am for this project. Vote YES on Measure CC. Home Depot. I am against this project. Vote No on Measure DD. J. Serra High School. I support this private school as I do support the proposed public San Juan Hills High School. Rancho Mission Viejo. They are proposing 14,000 homes on our Eastern boarder. Traffic, water, & wild life corridors are significant issues. We must keep traffic off the Ortega. San Juan Creek Road. I oppose the extension to La Pata. I am on record as such since 1999. Double Tracking. I oppose double tracking through South Orange County. Inland route alternatives exist. Traffic. We must reduce the impact of Regional traffic by supporting the Foothill 241 South and the extension of La Pata to San Clemente. There are intersections we can improve, and freeway interchanges to upgrade. The Downtown Master Plan. Should be resident friendly and emphasize outdoor dining. Plan should be evolutionary with participation by property and business owners, not outside consultants. Water Quality and Quantity. Our new master plan hinges on a high risk "DeSalter". We need to reorient towards new reservoirs to replace those we no longer have. We must do our part to ensure water quality in our creeks so our beachs have clean water. Mobile Home Parks. In the 1990's I pushed for the fair rent control and vacancy control ordinances now on the books. I am against the Home Depot, in part, because of its impact on one of our Mobile Home Parks. I prefer Resident Owned Parks as part of the ownership mix. For additional information, see http://www.davidswerdlin.com |
