Candidate for
Board Member; Tustin Unified School District

I am committed to fundamentals: basic skill instruction, conservative fiscal management, and accountability for our schools, administrators and school boards. I will provide responsible, conservative leadership for budget decisions, in spending construction funds, and fully implementing phonics and similar proven instructional methods in Tustin schools.

We will be growing from two to three comprehensive high schools in our district in the next four years. Planning carefully so that we have three successful high schools for our community will be very important. It is also important that we have board members who do their homework, and who are focused on the overall needs of the entire district.

I am dedicated to improving the management of and the instruction in Tustin Schools in many ways # including improved fiscal responsibility, implementing instructional programs based upon reliable scientific research rather than the limited and clearly unreliable "research" often utilized.

I will be a volunteer School Board member and donate back the monthly stipends, free health insurance, and similar benefits available under California law. I believe school board members should in essence be parent volunteers.
