I have been married to my wife, Diane, for thirty-five years. She teaches first grade at Centennial Elementary School in the Rosedale School District. We have two children who have attended and graduated from Rosedale Schools. We have lived in the Rosedale area since 1976. I was raised in Illinois and after high school attended college at Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana where I obtained a BA degree in biology. After some graduate work in Illinois I accepted a teaching position at John C. Freemont High School in the Watts area of Los Angeles. There I met my wife and after we were married we went to Humboldt State University in northern California. I obtained two masters' degrees, one in Biology and the other in Educational Supervision. We moved to Bakersfield where I have been teaching in the Life Science Department at Bakersfield College for the past thirty-three years. While being on the Rosedale School District School Board for the last four years I attended classes and graduated with a certificate in Masters in Governance from the California School Board Association. I am an active member of a local church, California School Board Association, California Teachers Association, Bakersfield College Faculty Association.
