I grew up in Fremont and graduated from Washington High School. I come from a family of educators, including my father and brother. I played clarinet in the Ohlone College band. My father taught at Ohlone, teaching classes in Comparative Government and Introduction to Education. My wife, who is a public school teacher, took courses at Ohlone for her teaching credential. Our son attends public school, and is taking swimming lessons at Ohlone.

I earned a bachelor's degree with high honors from Santa Clara University and then continued with my study in law. After graduating, I taught an adult education course in American history that was broadcast on local cable. In 1987, I began my law practice in Fremont, then in Newark, and for the past 5 years, as a partner with the law firm of Bernard, Balgley & Bonaccorsi.

Co-Chair of Fremont Unified's successful Measure B bond campaign.

Steering Committee, Fremont Unified's Bond Proposal Committee.

Leadership Fremont alumnus, 2001, sponsored by the Fremont Chamber of Commerce.
