Position Papers
Statement in Respose to Questions Regarding Parkland
With increased population density we should avoid actions that would reduce park space. The City's decision-making process should be open and transparent.
Homelessness; Gang and Drug Enforcement
Homelessness and affordable housing are complex problems that will require multiple efforts. Care must be taken not to cause further deterioration of the housing supply. Community and non-profit involvement are vital.
Gang involvement and drug abuse likewise require coordinated efforts of law enforcement and community organizations.
Statement Regarding Airport Issues
Transportation is a regional problem and should be adderssed with regional solutions. Long Beach should convene a regional conference on transportation, incluing airport usage.
