Position Papers
California's Growth Problem
I can address this issue forthrightly because I have taken no political contributions from those who do not care if our state is overrun by a huge influx of new people who overcrowd our schools, create massive traffic jams, and tax all of our services way beyond normal limits.
Political Contributions
I have not spent one minute of this campaign asking for money. I refuse to accept contributions from special interest groups, PACs, corporations, casinos, and from anyone who does not reside in the state of California. This stand has huge implications for the future of our state and our country.
Our Energy Problems
While others are expanding on what the problem is ... and bashing each other in the process ... I have been coming up with solutions to this problem. It will not go away, but we must do what we can to minimize the fallout from what has already been done. It will be much easier for a new governor not tied to these energy producers by campaign contributions to be a bit more forceful in the renegotiating of some of the 57 contracts that were signed under duress.
