Regional Public TransportationBy Jo ChamberlainCandidate for Member, Green Party County Council; County of San Mateo | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
I advocate a strong regional approach to public transit, with highway spending limited primarily to infrastructure maintenance.Transit modes should be integrated and interlinked. Walking and bicycling are important transportation modes, and should be encouraged through walker- and rider-friendly environments. Reliable, round-the-clock bus and train service is important to encourage new riders to count on public transportation. I advocate the expansion of bus and CalTrain service, as well as light rail and high-speed rail. |
