Three major priorities for Council will be recreation, infrastructure improvement, and redevelopment. In each of these there will be a plethora of opportunities and Council will have many choices to make. Planning is the key to rational decision making. I believe that Council should make decisions based on a well thought out series of actions which learns from the past, considers the present situation, and anticipates the future. In short, we need to think it through. We have a Master Plan for the city; we have a Recreation Master Plan; we need a Redevelopment/Revitalization Plan. This is not planning for planning's sake, but is necessary to help make certain that we are using our tax dollars wisely. Planning will help us use our tax receipts efficiently, aggressively seek outside funds, and establish an appropriate tax level to maintain the community quality that |
