Education: Roosevelt High School, Chicago, Ill, graduated 1953. University of Cincinnati, 1953-1955 (came to the university on a basketball scholarship, transferred after two years to DePaul), Bachelor's degree in Business from DePaul University, graduated 1958, Chicago, Ill. Masters degree in Corrections from Xavier University, graduated 1973.

Real estate career After serving in the U.S. Army in 1960, moved to Cincinnati and went to work for a real estate investment firm. I worked as a real estate salesperson for three years. In 1963 went in business for myself as a real estate investor/broker and remained so until now.

Real estate investments Since the 1960s, I have acquired hundreds of properties, often rehabbed them, and then managed them as rentals or resold. Presently I own and manage about two million dollars in residential and commercial investments. This does not require much of my time. On a part time basis, I also do real estate consulting and selling as a Realtor.

Teaching I've taught real estate courses at University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati Technical College and Raymond Walters during the 1970s. I've taught investment seminars privately to the public during the 1980s and 1990s. In the past 15 years, I've given continuing education courses to real estate agents. Substitute teaching at Norwood city public schools and St. Bernard/Elmwood district from Kindergarden to 8th grade, started Feb. 2001, averaged 2 times per week. This year I am on sub list with Cincinnati Public Schools.

Real estate newspaper writing I've written real estate columns for the Cincinnati Post, the Community Press papers and the Downtowner. Currently, my articles appear about

once a month in the Sunday Cincinnati Enquirer's real estate page.I presently have a quarterly publication called What's Happening With Hyde Park Businesses that's been around since 1995. It is distributed free in racks at high traffic areas in stores, etc. in the Hyde Park area.

Real estate book writing I have written 5 books, MAKING MONEY IN CINCINNATI, 1982, BARGAINS IN REAL ESTATE, 1984, THE ROTHENBERG LEASE-OPTION STRATEGY, 1986, and CINCINNATI'S FIRST TIME HOME BUYERS' GUIDE, 1988. My most recent book, published 1998, is called ED ROTHENBERG'S REAL ESTATE GUIDE.

Television Did real estate segments for Channel 12, Nick Clooney News, one year, 1982 Currently, I have a monthly two hour real estate call in show on Cincinnati Public Access Cable TV, started Jan, 1992. It is called Ed Rothenberg on Real Estate. It appears live on the third Tuesday of each month from 6 pm to 8. Then it is shown on tape six more times during the month at various hours. I also host a one hour political discussion show on cable called the McRothenberg Group which began in 1997.

Hobbies Play singles tennis or full court basketball 5 or 6 times a week. I enjoy writing.

Current work status Not active enough and looking for new challenges. My property is well maintained with few rental turnovers and is managed with little effort. I occasionally represent a seller or buyer as a Realtor and do some real estate consulting. I also spend a small amount of time publishing my Hyde Park newspapers.
