Redevelopment and Development procedures can be enacted that will have a negative impact on communities.
In Hamilton Co. there is a lot of flooding. We need to work together as a part of Hamilton Co. to ensure that there is adequate planning and development of procedures to prevent and minimize watershed flooding. This would require communities to enact and establish guidelines and enforecement policies in conjuction with the Army Corp of Engineers. I do not want to see development prohibited or hindered but I do want to see responsible development. The guidelines would require developers to make sure that they are not changing catch basins or reforming the land to create more run-off. Finally,there must be enforcement of guidelines that would have consequences that would make irresponsible development and the ignoring of guidelines very expensive.
