New Buidings need to Fit-In with the community
Foster City has almost reached full "build out", but the state of California has mandated that we need to add approximately 200 new housing units to meet our requirements. We therefore need to determine how to accomplish this order.
In my opinion the current "high density" approach would really put a strain on our infrastructure and we may be faced with shortages of needed services.
Instead, the concept of mixing housing with new businesses seems a more logical approach. Further, any new building in Foster City should fit in with the existing neighborhoods
and not over power them.
We must ensure that our infrastructure i.e., water, sewer,
electricity and traffic are able to handle the impact of any new building so that all growth in Foster City is
"SMART GROWTH".
