Productive local governmentBy David BauerCandidate for Councilmember; City of Belmont | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Establishing a spirit of teamwork is essential if Belmont is to move forward.Belmont's municipal government has been plagued by the inability of council members to work together. Too often, our council's problems have been considered humorous to those in neighboring cities, but they are no joke to Belmont. The inability of our council to act swiftly, decisively and positively has harmed our city. It has cost you, the taxpayer, tens of thousands of dollars and delays projects that would enhance our community. It is imperative that Belmont's government get back on the right track. No five people are going to agree all the time but we must have a council who is willing to work together, to compromise and arrive at sound decisions based on professional assessment, not on personal feelings. My top priority will be to put the welfare of Belmont and its residents first and restore accountbility and professionalism to our government. With your vote and support, I will work to establish a strong governmental team that will strengthen our community and benefit all of its citizens. |
