Neighborhoods with a heart:

> Vibrant retail and public spaces Other cities have found ways to protect a mix of local retail and we can too. Zoning and redevelopment funding are just two possible tools.

> Infrastructure to keep the lights on and more! Palo Alto needs to attend to our deferred maintenance. We need to make sure that our utilities, roads, and public buildings are taken care of. Grant money can do part of the job but the unpleasant truth is that both business and residents will need to pay our share. It is important to share the whole picture with the community and make the decision together.

> Public libraries, parks, and community rooms close to home Our City's Comprehensive Plan calls for "walkable neighborhoods". When we walk or bike to our nearby library or park, we can connect with our neighbors, our streets become safer and more pleasant and our children can use community resources more independently. I support resources in ALL our neighborhoods. Neighborhoods for Living:

> Diverse kinds of affordable housing Part of what makes Palo Alto so special is the wide range of people who live here. When we lose our neighbors because of escalating costs, we're losing the richness in our community.

I will work to protect the housing we have and encourage creative ways to add new units along transit corridors and tucked in among our existing neighborhoods.

> Gardens and trees for everyone, a park locale - Palo Alto for future generations Palo Alto is a city of trees and parks. We need to plan responsibly so our children will be able to enjoy a green Palo Alto. I support Palo Alto's sustainability plan, The City itself needs to set the example for us all: think green when making decisions.

> Kid's voices, not mechanical noises The sounds of children playing, people laughing, birds singing make our neighborhoods great places to be. Let's control the sound of machines so we can hear the important things!

Give the Neighborhood a Chance:

> A better balance between jobs and housing Palo Alto has four times as many jobs as homes! This has major implications for us all as a huge tidal flow of commuters brings traffic to a halt in our community twice each day. But while jobs proliferate, it is impossible to achieve a balance. I'm prepared to work on both halves of the equation.

> Traffic we can live with Let's create a safer space for walking and biking: traffic speed designed for safety. This will require physical changes to our streets AND education/enforcement.

> Neighborhoods speaking out Our neighborhoods are unique places with special concerns. Neighborhood associations can fill a vital role in City government, helping to connect the Council to the community and representing the concerns of residents. I will work to help foster our neighborhood associations.
