Esmeralda Sher Age: 41 Occupation: Economist/ Grant Reviewer. Education and Qualifications: Economist /Banker/ Grant Reviewer. My objective is to provide a quality education for all children. I will achieved this by providing full public disclosure of all school district expenditures, based on my experience in the banking industry, I will insist that annual reports provide easy access to financial information consistent with current business standards. I will assure the proper and equitable distribution of district funds to all schools and ensure competitive salaries and positive work environments to attract and retain quality teachers. I will work with district administrators to raise performance expectations for all students. My experience as a Foundation Grant Evaluator, Director of Parents United, President of the English Learners Committee, gives me the tools to provide quality academic opportunities for all children. My ability to relate to the different needs of the district students will assist me in improving all schools, ensuring their strength and continued operation. The elements for success in public education must include collaboration between parents, teachers, administrators and communities in the decision making process. The administration must recognize these responsibilities and be accountable. Thank you for your interest in improving public education for all our students. It would be an honor to serve as your school board member. |
