This is AL MAYBERRY: Al has spent his entire adult life as an educator. In Marin County, and throughout the Bay Area, he has created, run and taught dozens of successful programs in public and private schools, including:
In "The Lab," students choose projects which they research, design, layout and build. Lab projects require library and on-line research, drafting and layout (which includes above-grade-level math), real-life problem-solving and teamwork. This inter-disciplinary approach which is student- and teacher-driven has resulted in very high achievement levels. His unusually strong background in curriculum development and educational theory, and his hands-on program experience, will bring important and needed strengths to the Tam Board.
