My first prioity will always be that LVUSD must provide the very best education we can for all children in the district with the resources available. That concept will underpin every decision I make. I will continue to be a consensus builder, and approach problems with an open mind. My approach will be balanced.

My work experience as a CPA auditor with school district audit experience gives me a strong background for dealing with the budget and spending issues facing the district.

District resources are limited, almost all revenues are set by the state based on attendance. I intend to focus on using those revenues most efficiently for our childrens' education. Our teachers and classified employees deserve a competitive salary and benefit package; morale will suffer if we are not competitive. Facilities need to be well maintained, but without waste. These and other competing needs require that budgeting and spending be based on appropriate priorities. Of all the candidates in this election, my credentials are the stongest in this area.

We need to improve our communications at all levels in the district, especially with controversial issues. We need to listen to all interested parties and consider their views before reaching a decision. Tough choices must sometimes be made, they should be based on the best information available.

I am a conciliator by nature, I look to bring differing factions together into agreement whenever possible. But when tough choices need to be made, I'll be there representing the needs of our children first.

I will be independent. My decisions will be my own; I owe no allegiance to any one, any group or any idea. Those persons endorsing my candidacy include many leaders and parents covering the district from Agoura Hills, Calabasas and Westlake Village . They have endorsed my candidacy because of my experience and balanced approach. Please ask them about me.
