Candidate for
Governing Board Member; Temple City Unified School District

Dr. Gabe Soumakian has been in education for 25 years. Gabe and his wife Patty have lived in Temple City for nine years and their children attend the TCUSD. He is a Principal in Hacienda La Puente USD and teaches technology courses to administrators and teachers at Azusa Pacific University. His doctorate in "Educational Leadership" is supported with training in school business and school personnel. This background prepares him to make decisions on educational legal issues, negotiation procedures, and the budget process.

Gabe views the district issues through three lenses. As a former teacher and coach in the district, he understands the culture of the district and its needs. As a school administrator, he understands policies and district level procedures. As a parent, he is concerned like you in maintaining the quality of programs for ALL students.

Dr. Soumakian has the courage to lead and to examine the right processes and the right structures. The ability to ask the right questions that draw out the right information will facilitate the right decisions to produce the right rewards. Dr. Soumakian wishes to establish a high level of trust bringing confidence and positive relationships within the district and within the community so that our children will benefit.
