Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Jeff S. Sauer

Candidate for
Governing Board Member; Keppel Union Elementary School District

This information is provided by the candidate

I have been involved in my children's education for 12 years, as a PTA board member and SITE Council Chairman and as a concerned parent.

Quality education is the foundation of America's future. We can provide our children a safe and clean learning environment, where students are treated fairly without prejudice, where parents' involvement is encouraged. Where focus is placed back on the basics, reading, writing and arithmetic. Each student should be performing at or above grade level in these areas. I support technology within the district and a renewed commitment to updating, teaching and using that technology. Computers are an excellent tool for students and teachers alike and as teacher need it, I support training for them to expand their skills.

We need better communication between the school and the home. We need realistic goals and follow through to make sure we meet those goals. I also believe in bring together and building up as individual schools, a district and a community, focusing on quality education. It's time for change, for fresh ideas. It's time to move forward.
