One of the many wonderful things that our community has to offer is the Downey Unified School District. As a father of three children educated within the Downey's schools, and as a longstanding member of the PTA, I know that the students in our schools have long enjoyed many privileges that many other students have not. It is my intention to continue the rich tradition within the Downey Unified School District.

I will continue to help make the campuses of Downey Unified safe. I will be favorable to programs that provide safety to our schools. During my tenure with Gangs Out Of Downey, and in co-operation with the Downey Police Department and Downey Unified School District, we pioneered the "Campus Policing Program"; whereby the Police Department assigns an officer to the Downey High Schools every day of the week. So far the program appears to be successful in providing a safe environment.

I understand that the School District is working hard to address the various levels of overcrowding and I will be glad to help find solutions to this situation.

As a successful businessman I have proven my good business sense, and I will use this experience to ensure that fiscal priorities are achieved.

The schools are the foundation of the community, and maintaining a good school district should be the priority of every resident. I will work to preserve the stability that students, parents, and school district members enjoy and ensure the continuous improvement of the district into this new century.

It is for all these reasons that I want to be a Downey School Board Member.
