Remind Sacramento About Our Funding Protection
Pasadena City College relies on local residents to pay for students that attend our college. However, in recent years, our funding from the state government has not been reliable. As the legislature faces reduced revenues, community colleges have seen their allocated monies whittled away, with likewise reduction of educational opportunities and services available to the public.

Community colleges perform an important level of higher education for students of all ages and interests; many times we are the institution that "opens the door of opportunity" for a student. Our lobbyists have a message to deliver to the legislature: funding earmarked for local community colleges shall be preserved, and not be taken away from students. They have a right to an education. Our future depends on quality education.

Our College President can grab the gavel of leadership by increasing communication with local and state representatives, selling P.C.C. as a benefit for local business, residents, students, and the community in general. The Assembly, Senate, Superintendent of Public Instruction, and Governor will know that the Board is a strong, vibrant voice for stable-funded, local education. I will promote a "hands-off our money" policy with Sacramento.
