Cindy Iser was born in Connecticut in 1955. Cindy's parents moved to Los Angeles when Cindy was three years old, settling in Encino. Cindy attended Portola Middle School and Birmingham High School. In 1977, Cindy was awarded a Bachelor's Degree with High Honors from the University of California -- Santa Barbara.

While a student at UC Santa Barbara, Cindy was very active in community affairs, and was twice elected to the Isla Vista Community Council and appointed by the County Board of Supervisors to the Municipal Advisory Council. As a member of the Council, her accomplishments included serving as liaison with the University administration and the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors. Following her graduation, Cindy spent a year in Sacramento as a legislative intern for the County Supervisors Association of California. She compiled the California County Fact Book and worked on various legislative initiatives on behalf of the counties.

Having decided to become a lawyer while still in high school, Cindy entered the University of California # Hastings College of the Law in 1978. Her law school grades resulted in a position as an Associate Editor of the Hastings' Law Review. While in law school, Cindy served as a law clerk for the Department of Social Services in San Francisco, hearing citizen appeals to governmental denials of public benefits. In her final year of law school, Cindy served as an Intern to the Honorable Joan Dempsey Klein, of the California Court of Appeal.

Following law school graduation, Cindy's legal career began in 1981 at a private law firm, where she specialized in real estate transactions. In 1985, Cindy accepted a position as Associate General Counsel at a leading Southern California company. In 1992, Cindy was promoted to General Counsel, where she was responsible for guiding the legal affairs of over one hundred operating companies. While Assistant General Counsel, Cindy was instrumental in obtaining her company's financial support and construction expertise for the Hill `an Dale Family Learning Center in Santa Monica, a pre-school, where she served on the Board of Trustees from 1988-1990.

Cindy left corporate law practice in 1994 to devote more time to raising her two children. Zach is currently a student at Calabasas High and Andy is at A.E. Wright, where both boys are dedicated trombonists in the band programs and in the summer band workshops at Lindero Canyon Middle School. Cindy is a supporter of arts and music in the schools. A frequent classroom volunteer at Chaparral, Cindy participated as a room mother, volunteered at the annual Halloween carnivals and devoted time as a docent in the Great Works of Art program. Cindy and her husband have been annual volunteers for the Chaparral Variety Show, devoting hundreds of hours writing and directing various student acts. At A.E. Wright, Cindy assisted at student registration and the book fairs. Cindy has also assisted at registration and at music performances and other events at Calabasas High. Cindy is also active in the community. Serving a fifth term as Board Member of her neighborhood's Homeowners Association, Cindy negotiated and obtained from the builder of her development new fire-resistant furnaces at no charge to all affected homeowners. In addition, Cindy is active in the affairs of her synagogue, Temple Aliyah, where Cindy volunteered in the Gift Shop several times each week for four years, sells custom invitations and cards as a fundraiser for the Temple's Sisterhood, and currently sits on the Board of Directors.

Cindy continues to practice law in Calabasas on a reduced schedule. She enjoys playing tennis and golf with her family, and walking their retired Guide Dog, Canyon.
