Smart Voter Full Biography for Ken Horton

Candidate for
City Council Member; City of Agoura Hills

This information is provided by the candidate

My name is Ken Horton. I have live in southern California since 1973. I am an alumni of Santa Monica College and UCLA.

My family and I moved to Agoura Hills more than thirteen years ago. At that time, the city's slogan was, "Agoura, The Good Life".

I have volunteered many long and enjoyable hours of my time to community programs. I've served on the boards of the Agoura Hills Chamber of Commerce, the Triunfo YMCA, the Las Virgenes Technology Foundation and the YMCA's Amgen Awards Committee. I have coached youth softball and worked with the Junior Achievement program at Agoura High School.

As a parent and a grandparent, I understand the importance of providing a "good life" and a "quality environment" for our children. As a member of the Agoura Hills City Council, I will strive to make sure that the quality of life in Agoura Hills will always reflect, "The Good Life".

I have seen the members of our city's city council go through growing pains. They have had to make some very tough and not always popular decisions. I admire them all for volunteering to serve the city. It is a "Service" that each member of the city council provides. As with any service, there are always customers who pay for the service.

The Agoura Hills City Council's customers are the people who own residences or rent property in Agoura. Agoura's City Council customers are the people who own businesses in Agoura and the people who work at these businesses.
