Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Patricia A. "Pat" Hanrion

Candidate for
Governing Board Member; William S. Hart Union High School District

This information is provided by the candidate

As a 20 year resident of our community and a mother of five, I understand the impact and importance of a strong educational delivery system.

I believe parents have a great impact on the success of their children and feel that parental involvement in the system and decisions made that effect their families is critical. Other key components important for sound learning are: keeping dollars in the classroom, community communication, safety, current technology, fiscal responsibility, safety and cleaniness, equity and access for all students,

Our tremendous growth has mandated creative ideas to continue to provide our history of quality education. Alternative schedules mandated by overcrowding are not ideal for students, parents, or teachers.

I know what it is like to juggle calendars for school, work, and extra curricular activities and how disruptive it can be to quality family life. Because of this my goals for the future will include maintaining family integrity by moving forward with construction of new schools as soon as possible to keep neighborhoods intact, students close to home, dollars in the classroom, and continue our well know and documented educational excellence.

I believe it is important to have sensitivity to student needs, the ability to understand parent concerns as well as the leadership and determination to take action and solve problems. My proven record shows I have the qualities needed to be an effective board member who is dedicated to preparing our youth for the future
