Born in Astoria, Long Island, New York on July 18, 1942. Moved to Montebello, California in 1946. Lived in Pico (now Pico Rivera) during grammar school years. Completed junior high school in San Pedro. Attended San Pedro High School, graduating in 1960.

Joined the U.S. Navy the summer of 1960, and was honorably discharged upon completion of service.

Attended local colleges. Graduated Cum Laude with both AA and BA degrees in 1979.

FAMILY:

Wife: Frances Buonocore, married 18 years.

Children: Richard, John, Stephen, and Deborah (adult children). Michael, age 13 and Matthew, age 12 currently attend Mayfair Middle School.

Five grandchildren.

EMPLOYMENT:

Currently work for Stevedoring Services of America in the Los Angeles/Long Beach Harbor. Company formed a limited liability company with Matson Navigation Company, two years ago. Initial employment was with Matson - employed for 27 years.

Employed as a Labor Relations Manager and Director of Regulatory Compliance.
