Maria Has a Plan!

I have lived and worked in Paramount most of my life. In my job as a real estate professional I have spoken to many parents and students about their educational concerns. When I made the decision to run for the Paramount School Board, I immediately began visiting schools and talking with principals, teachers and staff members. These interviews reaffirmed my belief that the number one priority of the Paramount School Board is to improve the quality of education for our students, regardless of their circumstances.

As a member of the School Board, I will work to raise test scores by insisting on quality education. I will listen to teachers' concerns and will work hard to provide them with the tools they need to make their job as efficient and rewarding as it should be. I believe teachers should be accountable for students' performance, and that the district should pay better salaries to teachers who excell in their performance.

I will encourage participation and open communication with board members, the superintendent, principals, teachers, parents and students so we can stay focused on what really matters - improving education.

It Can Be Done!!
