ENERGY CRISISBy Rick RichardCandidate for Council member; City of San Diego | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Reducing costs and increasing suppliesUCSD has developed a workable energy producing system that at the present time is capable of supplying energy to several thousand homes. By providing additional funds and working with UCSD the city can expand this system whereby it would be capable of supplying enough energy to satifsy the needs of all San Diego City and County. MCAS Miramar has already offered the use of a portion of the base property to set up an energy plant. Lets take them up on the offer and work with MCAS Miramar and UCSD. The old Government owned Missile Testing Pads in Sycamore Canyon,(Now deserted) is a great possible site for building a major energy storage facility. |
