Political Philosophy for Joanne S. Kemmerer
Candidate for |

|
Government derives its authority from God through the natural law; and this authority or power is delegated to officials by the people. The purpose of government is to protect citizens, not to increase control over the people, i.e. higher taxes. Local control of the people's business should be the priority, but some State laws setting broad standards are necessary to protect the citizens. The 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution should be respected, i.e. that of states' rights vs. the encroachment by the federal government. |
