State Representative candidate Wayne Coates served as Mayor for the City of Forest Park from December 4, 1995 through December 1, 1999, having served on City Council since 1989. As Mayor, Wayne Coates resided over the Forest Park Mayor's Court and Chairman of the Inter-government Relations Committee. Mayor Coates served as a member of the Ohio Mayor's Association and the Ohio Municipal League, serving as Legislative Chairman for the Hamilton County Municipal League. He also served as Trustee to the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Council of Government, and Trustee to the Cincinnati-Hamilton County Community Action Agency. As a member of City Council, Wayne has chaired the Public Improvements and Facilities Committee, the Community Development Committee, and the Ways and Means Committee. He also served on the Forest Park's Planning Commission and the Cincinnati-Hamilton County Housing Resource Board. Prior to his being elected to Forest Park City Council, Wayne Coates served as Chairman of the Forest Park Beautification and Conservation Commission, and as a member of the Forest Park Economic Development Commission. Wayne Coates received his real estate license in 1972 and is currently a real estate broker with Coldwell Banker West Shell Residential Real Estate Services. Wayne holds his CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) and GRI (Graduate Realtors Institute) professional real estate designations. He is a former Legislative Committee Chairman of the Cincinnati Area Board of Realtors and a former Trustee of the Ohio Association of Realtors. Wayne is a former Registered Home Builder having built a Homearama Home in 1981 prior to his move to Forest Park in 1984. Wayne Coates is on the Executive Committee and Central Committee of the Hamilton County Democratic Party. He serves as a Democrat Precinct Executive in Forest Park where he has served as presiding judge at the polls. Wayne is past president of the Forest Park Democratic Club. Wayne Coates has been acknowledged as a Jaycee International Senator for his contribution to the Jaycee Organization. He has been recognized as an Outstanding State Program Manager for his efforts in the energy and environment area. Wayne is past president of the St. Matthews Jaycees. State Representative candidate Wayne Coates is married,his wife Linda is employed as a Data Systems Instructor with Thompson Learning. Linda also teaches part-time at Great Oaks Institute of Technology and Career Development. They have two adult daughters, Stephanie and Jamie. |
