1. What specific measures do you support to increase equal access to health care in Ohio?

Answer from Les Mann:

We must insure that all persons have the ability to receive adequate health care. I believe we must approach the insurance industry to do more on their part to transfer some of their profits into a program that would help defray the costs. We should continue to encourage all employers to participate in covering those who work in plans that allow them to choose their doctors and what level of care they seek.

2. What are your views on legislation to study racial profiling by law enforcement?

Answer from Les Mann:

I hope that legislation would not be required at the state level to insure that this practice would not occur. I believe it is more an administrative issue at the local level and would be best handled as such. Having been a police officer for 14 years, I know this has and still occurs and in today's environment cannot be tolerated. This is clearly a civil rights issue and must be dealt with as such.

3. What stable funding source do you support for the Ohio Housing Trust Fund?

Answer from Les Mann:

We must work with outside private investors to encourage them to participate in a program that would allow them to receive a fair return on their investments yet allow the state to establish a plan to insure adequate housing in all areas, particularly in urban areas that have been allowed to deteriorate. For continued progress in housing we must put forth a long-range plan with goals to attract a stable funding solution.
