PERSONAL:

Tom, age 39, is the youngest member of the Yosemite Community College Board. He is married to the former Catherine Flores. The Hallinan's are the proud parents of a son, Marco, who attends school within the Yosemite Community College District at Modesto Junior College.

ELECTED OFFICE:

Tom is completing his first term on the Yosemite Community College Board which governs Modesto Junior College and Columbia College. He currently serves as the Vice-President of the Board of Trustees, and is the District's representative to the Stanislaus County School Board Association.

APPOINTIVE OFFICE:

Tom currently serves as a Director of the 38th District Agricultural Association/ Stanislaus County Fair Board.

EDUCATION:

Tom was educated in local public schools, and began his college education within the Yosemite Community College District at Modesto Junior College. He worked his way through Fresno State University and night law school, and eventually became a criminal prosecutor with the United States Department of Justice.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Tom currently serves as a municipal and special district attorney representing numerous local governmental organizations within Central California.
In addition to formerly serving as a criminal prosecutor (misdemeanor division of the U.S. Attorney's Office in Sacramento), Tom worked as a clerk for the Judicial Council of California, Legislative staffer for State Assemblyman Steve Peace, and Graduate Student Assistant - Toxic Substances Control Division.

Tom grew up working on both of his grandparents farms and ranches where he learned the values of hard work and independent thought. He has also worked as a warehouseman; electrician's helper; and injection molding machine operator, among other things.

MILITARY SERVICE:

Tom currently serves as a Captain (JAG Officer) in the California Military Reserve.
