LEE B. THIBADEAU

Lee and his wife Robbi came to San Marcos in 1974 to raise their family. His two daughters went to school and church in San Marcos. Lee's oldest daughter then became one of the first graduates of Cal State University, San Marcos.

Concerned about public safety, Lee became a Reserve Deputy Sheriff in 1975. Lee put computers in the Sheriff cars and started the first Neighborhood Policing Program in San Diego County.

Lee Thibadeau was elected to San Marcos City Council in 1980 until elected Mayor in 1986 where he served until 1995.

As your Elected Representative Lee worked to resolve the traffic problems of the 1980's, bringing the funding to widen Twin Oaks Bridge, San Marcos Boulevard and the freeway ramps. Lee did what everyone said couldn't be done; he acquired the funding to widen highway 78 to six lanes.

Lee successfully fought to bring the new Cal State University and worked to build our new city center with no local taxpayer funding.
